HE CARES FOR THOSE WHO TRUST HIM

Today’s Devotional is taken from Nahum 1:7 “The Lord is a refuge in times of trouble.  He cares for those who trust Him.”  Isaiah 40:31 “But the people who trust the Lord will become strong again.  They will rise up as an eagle in the sky; they will run and not need to rest; they will walk and not become tried.”

Psalm 125:1 “Those who are trusting in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be overthrown. They remain forever.”  (ISV)  I like this because it shows that the trusting is continuing.   Proverbs 3:5-8 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your body and refreshment to your bones.”   Wow look at that again it will be healing to your body and refreshment to your bones.  What a wonderful promise!

I am going to repeat something that I am pretty sure I have written before.  How would you feel if your child didn’t trust you to help them?  They would just flat out say No or pull away and not trust you for your help?  I don’t know about you but that would hurt my heart.  Imagine how God feels when we constantly DO NOT trust Him or we tell him I got it covered God, or maybe we just even go on without even believing He is there to help us.

When we trust Him with complete confidence that He is working things out for our good as it says in Romans then I feel sure that He smiles a big smile and says that’s my girl or my boy.  Makes Him come on the scene quicker each time we trust Him.  As the scripture says in Nahum…  “He cares for those who trust Him.”  Now this doesn’t mean He doesn’t care for everyone.  II Peter 3:9 tells us “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some count slackness; but is longsuffering to you-ward, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”  What this is talking about is that it makes Him happy as I said earlier and He will respond to us quicker the next time.

So trust Him and see how much He cares!
