Buy the least expensive dishwasher soap, and then add a few teaspoons of vinegar to the dishwasher. The vinegar cuts the grease and leaves the dishes spot-free and sparkling.

Place a piece of chalk in your silver chest or drawer, to slow the tarnishing process of silver. The chalk will absorb moisture and your silver will not tarnish so quickly.

Do you want to keep creep crawly critters away? Place bay leaves in all your kitchen drawers and in the flour and sugar containers. They will stay away.

Remove Soap Scum with Dryer Sheets

Dryer sheets aren’t just for freshening your laundry Add a couple of drops of water to one, and you can remove soap scum from your shower doors, walls, and tub. And while you’re at it, stuff one into the cardboard insert of your toilet paper roll. You’ll spin out some freshness every time you use it.

Tourists can easily get distracted and overwhelmed by the number of people in these bustling transportation hubs. A common scam is “bump & grab.” In this scam, a thief or a group of thieves will “accidentally” bump into a tourist. While you are distracted, the scammer is picking your pocket. When on trains, thieves often stay near the train door timing their next move. Just as the door is set to shut, they swipe purses and other belongings and make a quick getaway while the train leaves the station. Travelers should never keep their wallets or anything valuable in their front or back pockets. Using something discreet like a money belt or a zippered cross-body bag will provide additional security. It is also best practice to not have all of your valuables and essential documents in one place. That way if you do fall victim to a pickpocket, copies of your documents will be safe to get you home, and the cash to make that journey comfortable.
